The use of St. John’s Wort dates back to Ancient Greece. It has been used for various medical purposes, such as skin care, hair care, and digestive health for centuries. One of its benefits is relieving inflammation and protecting the damaged tissues without impairing their vitality and with no fluid retention. Facilitates the recovery and healing of the epidermis, helping treat skin issues and irritations caused by psoriasis, wounds, acne scars, mild burns, blackheads, and bruises.

The rich compounds in St. John's wort oil nourish and soothe dry, irritated, or damaged skin, making it a traditional remedy for eczema and dermatitis. John's Wort oil is believed to help reduce symptoms of menopause, such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, sleep disturbances, anxiety, and depression, which occur due to decreased estrogen production during this challenging period for women.

Dispersing vital energy and dissipating accumulated tension and stress, St. John’s wort oil is also an efficient antidepressant. This oil is mostly applied through massage, but it can be added to creams, ointments, moisturizers, and natural medicines.

Aroma lamp/aroma diffuser: as the oil is available as a 10% solution in jojoba, its use for diffuser lamps, baths and inhalations is not recommended!

Massage / self-massage: 14 drops per 10 ml. base oil.
Cosmetic application: applied directly. It can be included in soothing masks with a healing effect.

To restore the epidermis, in case of inflamed skin, 1-2 drops of the oil are warmed between the palms, the aroma is inhaled and applied lightly to the face. Massage the sore spots.

Contraindications: do not use in the first months of pregnancy and after an abortion.

The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the stems and flowers of wild St. John’s wort (Hypericum Perforatum) and is a 10% solution in Bio Jojoba. It is 100% organic certified according to BDS ISO 16128-1:2018 standard.

The aromatic molecules in the composition of St. John’s wort oil are: Methylnonane, Pinenes (ά and β-Pinene), Germacrene (Germacrene D), Caryophyllene (β-caryophylene). Germacrene and Caryophyllene are in the composition of soothing oils such as lemon balm oil, for example. The terpene β-caryophyllene helps calm anxiety and depression.

Thanks to the active ingredient hypericin with a gentle antidepressant effect, the oil improves mood. Research has found that St. John’s wort’s antidepressant properties are due to inhibiting the reabsorption of serotonin, which is how most pharmaceutical antidepressants work.

Pinenes (ά and β-Pinene) – give the fresh resinous-balsamic aroma and have anti-inflammatory and local antiseptic action.
